This Athletic Pavilion is conceived as a sculptural retreat, designed in collaboration with Mind Tree Arts’ Peter Staley. Cedar wraps every surface, from the gently curved walls to the undulating bench and slatted canopy, which filters light throughout the day. Inside, the quiet, cedar-lined studio frames views of the canyon. Outside, a curved outdoor kitchen and open-air shower extend the space outward, opening fully to the surrounding mountaintop. The pavilion fulfills Mariah’s original concept of offering shelter from the sun while serving as a relaxed setting for courtside gatherings and entertaining.
