Objects with Soul
Mariah O’Brien and Camille Mathis are united by a shared devotion to craftsmanship, artistry, and the quiet magic of well-made things. Together, they created retail spaces that offer access to unique, bespoke, and vintage objects typically found only through a luxury interior designer or personal shopper.
Rooted in a desire to fill a gap in the neighborhood, their stores bring together curated home décor, heirloom furnishings, objet d’art, and thoughtfully upcycled fashion. Each piece is selected for its beauty, integrity, and story, honoring the hands and histories behind its making.
The shops are grounded in sustainability and a deep appreciation for bespoke and handmade furniture, art, clothing, and adornment. By collaborating with local artisans, craftspeople, and curators, the stores foster a sense of community built around shared reverence for beauty, materiality, and craft.
In 2024, within a single year, they opened two sister shops on the Eastside of Los Angeles in Cypress Park:
Chez Moi – A furniture and home atelier featuring fine art, textiles, vintage and bespoke furnishings, rugs, and uncommon objects.
Le Petit Chez Moi – A treasure box of upcycled, handmade, and vintage clothing and jewelry created by local artisans.
Each space is both a shop and a gathering place. Through curated collections and intimate events, Mariah & Camille create retail experiences that invite connection—with the objects, the makers, and the neighborhood itself. Visitors are encouraged not only to discover something beautiful, but to know the person who made it.
